Reading the reviews

I've read the reviews and am saddened and angered at those who have given this movie 1 star simply because it isn't Salinger's story or because it was this movie that resulted in Salinger denying his Catcher in the Rye to be put onscreen until 70 years after his death. And the review whining that people don't read books.......HELLOOOOO, this is a message board for MOVIES! If all of you want to complain about this movie not being true to the short story or discuss Salinger, please go to a website devoted to such. This is a message board for the movie, and a website for movies, actors, television shows, etc., NOT books and not literary authors!

Just for the record, I'm a voracious reader, always have been. I prefer nonfiction historical books, but also have read "the greats" and have books shelves full, not to mention the many, many books I've donated to schools and other organizations.

As you should recognize, art is interpretation. "My Foolish Heart" is an interpretation of another work. Please judge the work based on the medium in which it is created, not upon whether or not you like that particular medium nor whether or not you feel the new "artist" had the same interpretation as the original artist. Simply avoid the new artists' works and/or medium, but don't try to ruin the enjoyment of others.
