Most of the items on the set in the opening scene are new yet the place is supposed to be run down. The pot Ma is cooking in is shiny brand new. The stuffed rocking chair next to where Pa is seated is also new and so is his hat.The funniest part is when Ma starts setting the family table it's filthy with dust and stuff is scattered on it but she puts the plates down anyway. By the time she puts the spoons & forks down the table is now shiny clean as if it had been wiped down with furniture polish. (lol)

The next time a scene is shown with the family table it's back to being dusty & dirty again with the scatted objects on it.(lol)

In the opening scene where Ma Kettle clears that chicken off the kitchen table before setting out the plates, I coulda' swore there was a big white smear of chicken crap deposited on the table, right where the chicken had been.

No, she didn't bother to clean that off... ewww... (I guess one of the younger kids got to sit at that spot... lol)
