Only one thing wrong with these movies...

Ma and Pa Kettle were as close to authentic as you could get on television. But the only thing I hated about these movies were the different grown up kids. They used "city" people to play the adult kids which was unrealistic and just plain stupid. I personally know what a farm boy or girl acts like. Because I am one. And they never turn out like that. Does Charlene Darlin ring a bell? Also, they always had small children even though one always managed to grow up in every episode. Geez. How dumb did they think people were in those days?

This was especially important in the last episode when the imposter Pa came into the picture. A well deserved axe in the end. When Percy Kilbride went, the whole franchise fell apart.
