How this movie was publicized in summer 1949 - one example.

Source: The Emporia Weekly Gazette, Emporia, Kansas. 7 July 1949.

I was researching something unrelated tonight for July 1949 and noticed this blurb about the movie hitting the big screen in New York City, as carried by this newspaper printed in Emporia, KS. It notes the cast and director and states that the film is also listed as Movie of the Week in the current issue of Life Magazine.

I'd never heard of it before and it sent me to IMDb. Really enjoyed reading the comments many people have posted for this film.

On Page 4 it reads, verbatim:

Premiere for W. L. W. Story

The world premiere of "Lost Boundaries," the Louis de Rochemont picturization of W. L. White's factual story about a Negro family that passed as white in a New England community, opened Thursday at the Astor theater in New York Advertisements in New York newspapers asserted: "Scores of outstanding hits have played at the Astor in 36 years but none has been greater than this one!"

Whether it ever played in Emporia, KS I have no idea. Also not sure I've ever seen the word "picturization" before either.
