Lora Mae and Porter

Although Porter keeps referring reverently to Addie's "class" and displays the framed photo she gave him, it's clear in the scene when Lora Mae lays her cards out on the table that Porter admires and respects her, because she's his equal in savvy and cunning. This is what makes him realize that he loves her and why he comes back to her...Addie my be on a pedestal, but he and Lora Mae see eye to eye, which is ultimately more fulfilling.

Maybe he finally realizes the woman who had true class- the one who wanted marriage over a one time affair- instead of the skank who would run off with another woman's husband. IMO, class has less to do with sophistication than with decent behavior, "being a lady".
