Jeanne Crain ... Deborah Bishop

Linda Darnell gets a lot of attention here, and she well should for both beauty, and character...
but Jeanne Crain should too, That hair (that she couldn't do anything with) was beautiful! And those eyes.

Acussed here of being a 12YO or an 8YO, as if either of those were bad things!

I agree. I loved her character in Leave Her To Heaven.

I agree. Linda is obviously beautiful but Jean is so lovely. She lights up the screen for me.

Jeanne Crain was indeed very lovely. I finally got to see one of her less-well-remembered films, "Take Care Of My Little Girl" (1951), a surprisingly frank (for its day) drama about sorority life. Jeanne plays one of the pledges. Unlike a lot of movies where gorgeous movie stars are laughingly written off as "plain" or unattractive, this film deals with that little matter head on.

In a scene where the sorority sisters are gathered to debate and vote on the prospective pledges, each pledge's appearance and personality are discussed. Jeanne's name comes up. One of the seniors says "First off, how do you get to look like that?"

The bitchy sorority members agree that Jeanne's wardrobe needs a little work but they can't fault her looks; they unaniously vote her in. Who could blame them?

"Well...yes, I am Tracy Turnblad's manager! (Gimme a pencil, quick! Quick!) How may I help you?"

I, too, agree with you about Jeanne Crain. She had an outward and inner beauty. Oh, yes, and class. Porter Hollingsway would love that! ;-)
