Good Bogie film that usually slips through the cracks. He plays an attorney defending a slum kid. Pretty ahead of its time for 1949. Even depicts the suicide of the defendant's wife. If the hat don't fit you must acquit! He defends a guilty man by saying literally it's society's fault. Rightwingers will love this one...not.
Bogart never made a bad film, and most of them are classics!
