King of the Rocket Men on DVD

Cheezey have released a fairly good print on DVD, complete with snack bar ads and trailers for other films they have released. The DVD is better than the one Republic Home Video used to master the old VHS tape; however there are a couple of glitches. The first scene in Glenda's apartment: there is a repetitive scene due to faulty editing on the master. It's not serious and lasts about 30 seconds but it is annoying. The picture quality is slightly better than the VHS and the sound is also better but I was hoping for MUCH better.... I recorded LOST PLANET AIRMENoff the TV about 15 years ago (containing practically all the exciting scenes from ROCKET MAN) and the sound is STILL better on this tape than on the Cheezey DVD ! By the way this serial contains my all-time favorite music for ANY serial, but I like the main title music for FLYING DISC MAN FROM MARS the best.....

Thanks, I was just going to ask if there was a DVD anywhere. I'll look for this one. Have you seen a DVD for Flying Disc Man? I just read about that one last night, and it sounds great.

Flying Discman was released on DVD a couple of years ago but I haven't checked the quality. There's a one and two disc set so I would opt for the 2 disc set...

I bought this from Amazon and found the same repeated scene in chapter 2 that you reported. But the Last Chapter, disc 2, was badly garbled on my copy. I contacted Amazon to exchange it and I got back a message that they no longer carry it, although it still shows on their site from other vendors. They'll refund my money, but all I really need is the Last Chapter. My email is [email protected] if anybody's got a solution.

AC Comics have also released a 2-DVD set for around $25. It LOOKS like it may be a better mastering than the Cheesy one but I'm waiting till " Black Friday " after Thanksgiving: they usually go for half-price for a day or two...
