I wonder how Chapter 10 was received by the kiddies in the theater. The first ten minutes of this episode are two characters flashing back to scenes from the previous nine installments. Only the last few minutes had any content worth watching, and most of it can be seen in the recap in Chapter 11. If I were a kid seeing that in 1949, I'd be pissed.
shareThis seems to happen in many of the serials of that time, probably to save money and extend the length of the serial, and to remind people what has happened; remember that we only got to see one chapter a week, a fifteen chapter serial could run for s few months and we tend to forget what was happening. The same stuntman/extra also played several roles several weeks apart.
Never depend on anything and you will never be disappointed.
