When You're Snowbound, Any Movie is Entertaining

I recorded this movie last week in anticipation of yet another polar vortex moving into Ohio and bringing life as we know it to a stand still (at least that's what our local meteorologist said). Calamity Day 3 (what used to be called "snow days" but are now more ominous apparently) gave me the time to watch this little charmer. I laughed out loud at a few points, and really loved the Ronald Reagan/Jack Carson interplay. I've never been a fan of Patricia Neal's but Edward Arnold and Paul Harvey more than make up for her strange casting (and unusual-for-her blonde hair. A great way to spend a wind-chilled afternoon!

I thought the same thing. I couldn't figure out why Patricia Neal was even in this movie. She seemed all wrong; too old for the part, the wrong look, so out of place. I've never been a fan of hers either so I am biased but I liked everyone else and the movie itself; just not her.

It didn't help that she was playing, what I thought was, an unlikable character but the biggest problem for me is I thought she lacked chemistry with the other cast members; especially Reagan, who plays her love interest, and the actors who play her parents. It's a very odd thing.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
