The ballpark was used in many films from the 30s to the 50s, not always for baseball movies. The rally scene in Capra's Meet John Doe was filmed there. The heist in Armored Car Robbery takes place in front of the stadium.
The Angles moved to Dodger Stadium after the 1961 season, then to Anaheim in 1966. Wrigley Field had no regular tenants after the Angels left but the park wasn't torn down until 1969.
