Looking for more movies like 'I was a Male War Bride'

I watched several other movies on the same topic like "A Foreign Affair", "The Search", "The Devil makes three", "The Prize of Gold", "Germania anno zero" and "Hallo Fraeulein" (with Peter Van Eyck).
Could somebody recommend more movies from the forties and fifties?

Also, I was wondering why "Male War Bride" received only 7 stars?
It's hilarious, has great actors/comedians, a nice plot, good soundtrack, great outdoor locations. Why not giving it 9 stars (o.k., I gave "A Foreign Affair" 10 stars, so maybe "War Bride" is not quite as great, but almost!).
