Good casting of John Ireland as Bob Ford.

John Ireland was one of the better actors coming out of the late 40s through the 60s. He played this role as though he had fought with the demons that Bob Ford had felt. When I think of Bob Ford, I see John Ireland.

When I think of Robert Ford, I think of Casey Affleck =]

I honestly believe I'm destined for great things, Mr. James.

I agree richsass, Ireland was always underrated and underutilized. He rarely got roles that were good enough for his talent....even in minor supporting roles
he always gave a high quality performance. "I Shot JJ" was certainly one of his better ones...but he really excelled in noir...he's the first actor who comes to my mind when noir is mentioned ("The Scarf" and "Railroaded" for example)and he was very good in adventure and western films as well ("Hurricane Smith" and " The Bushwhackers", for instance.)
