Remake of a remake

Most people acknowledge that this movie was remade as a western (Broken Lance)in 1954 with Spencer Tracy, Robert Wagner, Jean Peters and Richard Widmark.

I wonder why no one ever seems to acknowledge that it was remade again in the early sixties in a circus setting. It was called "The Big Show" and it starred Nehemiah Persoff, Cliff Robertson, Esther Williams and Robert Vaughn.

Perhaps not everyone found "The Big Show" worth their time.

--From banking fraud to range war with miners to a neglected turnbuckle?

I have no doubt but that it will be remade again, probably a family of drug dealers this iime. Or maybe it could be made in a Star Wars setting.

I hope I'm not giving Hollywood ideas. They have enough of their own.

LOL That's a good one, pal. Obviously, the writer was familiar with Double Indemnity.

What a ridiculous thought. These movies are all different in someway. There are a lot, I mean a lot of movies that have similarities and you would probably call them remakes. I've seen all three of these movies and remake doesn't come close. This is just your opinion and you should post it as such. Not a bad opinion but those movies are not remakes.

Wow!! No need to be insulting to the OP, lol! Why not try and write the same ideas without all the insults, lol! The guy isn't confiding state secrets!!

You may call it ridiculous, but sadly for you, you're quite wrong.

All three films come from the same source novel, ""I'll Never Go Home Again," by Jerome Weidman. Phllip Yordan came up with the story and screenplay for "House of Strangers" and the story for both "Broken Lance" and "The Big Show". He won an oscar, btw for the Broken Lance-- in other words --- remake of a remake!
