Two ends of the spectrum

I haven't seen many Bowery boys movies. They usually seem silly and predictable but this one captured my attention. By rule, if the word 'baby' is in a title, I'm almost sure to watch the movie.

Usually it means there will be either a cute little baby in the movie and the story will revolve around that baby; or the movie is about love and romance. There may be a few exceptions but, in those cases, another word in the title would tend to give it away. Luckily, I haven't been wrong often.

I also loved the two old women in this movie. The characters were mean and greedy but the actresses played villains well. They were worse, even scarier, than the other thugs and the one with the gun was totally believable as a tough old broad.

It's nice to see a wide range of ages, from very young to very old, in a movie. It means more actors get roles. These ladies were on the wrong side of the law in this movie but at least they weren’t typecast. At their ages, they probably don’t get roles like that very often.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
