Luis Buñuel may be good at bizarre images and social critique, but comedic timing? If EL GRAN CALAVERA is any indication, he sucks at it. There are a couple of funny moments, but they’re funny thanks to the cast and script, not the directing.

Luis Buñuel podrá ser bueno con las imágenes bizarras y la crítica social, ¿pero el ritmo cómico? Si EL GRAN CALAVERA es un indicio, él apesta en eso. Hay un par de momentos chistosos, pero son chistosos gracias al elenco y al guión, no a la dirección.
