Corey and Tetzel are both so unlikable

Cory's character is such an a#$hole, especially in the opening scenes of the
movie that I couldn't have cared less what happened to his character. And
Joan Tetzel's role as his simpering, suffering wife is even worse! She just lets
this jerk walk all over her. Really hard to care about either of their
fates.

This is a sluggishly-paced, overheated potboiler that is redeemed only by the
magnificent Stanwyck. She is the only reason to watch this film.
