Raft's best friend for most of his life, Mack Gray, did a bit as the taxi driver in this film. He invariably turned up in Raft films as a member of Raft's crew, or a cop or wheelman.

Ella Raines brightens up anything she's in - unfortunately, in this one she was dressed by Charles of the Bowery.

You are so right. Michael Woulfe did a terrible job with her, save for that one white blouse at the end with all the buttons undone.
