what kind of court system would put a dog to death when there is someone who is willing to take care of it?

I was thinking the same thing. Must be a Protestant thing. Catholics would on saved Lassie.

Liked the film, though. It was very sweet.
Was to protect against dangerous dogs they used to be a problem with them but Lassie was far from it.
The law must have been changed and Lassie got the key to the city.
Just watched the film and it was quite good.
I give it a 5 out of 10.
I also liked Greyfriars Bobby the 1961 film also need to watch the 2005 one.
