Lions and Sasquatch and Bears, Oh my!

Our first glimpse of Randolph Scott has him scouting a pass through the Canadian Rockies-alone-armed with a pair of Colt revolvers. If he has stumbled across a sow grizzly with cubs, a hungry cougar (four-footed 19th century feline), or even a testy Bigfoot, the film would have ended right there. Even the mountain men knew enough to carry a medicine rifle.
