A MAJOR goof about the Professor

For 3 chapters, everytime Batman suggests that the professor might be the Wizard, Robin insists that he can't be because he's a wheelchair invalid, which he is but he has a machine that enables him to get up and walk, which he is doing right in front of Batman and Robin in chapters 14 and 15 and they never think anything odd about it. Has anybody else noticed this?

I don't remember them ever saying why he was in a wheelchair at times and then at the end he starts walking.

While there is no direct explanation, nor any acknowledgment from any character of this startling transformation, it seems clear that the electric chair gizmo temporarily restores the Professor to good health.

I suspect that Batman purposefully said nothing to indicate that he knew of the secret device beforehand, as Bruce Wayne is looking to move up from the 'burbs, and had previously scouted the mansion for his future residence, and underground base of operations, in say, twenty years.

That actually makes a lot of sense. The house had underground parking as stated by the thugs so Batman can park the Batmobile. It has a body of water for Batboat to get in and out. Has a big underground cave too. Batman might be moving there soon.

Hammil's machine was nothing more than a red herring. It was meant to make us think that he was the wizard. In reality, it just gives him the freedom of independent mobility. It is, however, never explained what he does during the limited time in which he is able to walk. I guess one could assume that he spent that time working on the neutralizer in his secret laboratory.

I think at the beginning the professor was supposed to be the wizard but as the story progressed, they got sidetracked and forgot to give a logical reason for the professor's machine
