Have you seen the Wikipedia article for Late Spring?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Late_Spring

Possibly one of the largest Wiki articles for a movie I've seen.
I was surprised that there was only one page of discussion for Late Spring on the IMDb board.

Indeed. The article was so long that I had to close the tab as soon as possible.

@moviewizguy

Doubtful you are a much of a movie wiz since you can't take the time to read the meticulously researched article about Ozu's films provided by Wikipedia -- in English.

...and...it's free...

Ozu is one of the greatest cinema geniuses of all time. I'm always very grateful for any information available about the period of time he lived and worked in Japan, his methods, his actors, the sociopolitical atmosphere of Japan in the 50's etc

Late Spring is one of the most beautiful movies ever. Take a deep breath and watch it in a very quiet, very dark room with no distraction and no alcohol. It's a masterpiece.

Great comment! IMDB needs a "like" button!

What a waste. Oh, the humanity!

reply

I know! That's crazy long. The movie deserves it though.

reply

yeah, very informative. I think most of that relates to Ozu himself, and most of his movies. It just happens to be on that movie's page.

No expectations, no disappointments.

reply

oh wow

i'll need to come back to this

reply

Wow, absolutely amazing.
I'll have to come back to this article after I see the film.
