Capitol Building
I noticed "All the King's Men'' was filmed entirely in California. So I'm assuming the building they used for the state capitol is the one in Sacramento, is that correct?

I was wondering the same thing. It's certainly not the capitol in Sacramento, and it's not the capitol in Baton Rouge, since that one is a 1930s fairly modern art deco type of building. It looked to me like the Texas capitol in Austin, kind of skinny and weird and almost uncompleted. Anyone else with a guess?
shareI just replied to another post about this. The building is actually the San Joaquin County Courthouse in Stockton, California. I believe that most of the movie was shot in the area. Stockton has had a lot of "Southern" films made there including "Cool Hand Luke," "Bound for Glory," and "Porgy and Bess." The scenes out in the Delta with the ferry certainly look like the San Joaquin Delta area. There are also a lot of other places I recognize from the film including the old Hotel Stockton.
The old courthouse was torn down in the 1960s but the mosaic floors and some of the woodwork were installed in the Haggin Museum in Victory Park in Stockton. Fortunately, the Hotel Stockton was recently restored.

Indeed you just did susanoconnell (replied to another post about it). So did I, I had a Q for you: Doesn't documentary filmmaker Michael Moore ("Bowling for Columbine", 2002) have something to do with Stockton? I recently saw one of his other documentaries on dutch television ("The Big One", 1997 or "The Awful Truth", 2000) and remember he chose Stockton I believe as an example to make a point (business vs. workers) or target so to speak. Am I correct?

I know this is an older post but just for the record...some of it was filmed in Stockton, CA. The very end was all filmed on the steps of our City Hall. The building still stands. I used to work right around the corner.
