Un Chien Andalou

As I was watching this superb Noir-ish dive into a post war Toykyo cesspool, the number of visual allusions to Dali and Bunuel's groundbreaking surrealistic Un Chien Andalou blew me away.

The cutting, the sudden slow motion, the surprise flashbacks, the symbolism.

Great artists steal and Kurosawa does it perfectly!
