'Grandpa' actor sang in original 'Paint Your Wagon'

I just realized that 'Grandpa' in this film was played by the actor (James Barton) who was the original 'Ben Rumson' in "Paint Your Wagon" on Broadway. He sang "I Was Born Under a Wandrin' Star", among other numbers (Lee Marvin played Rumson in the 60s film version). Barton was a triple threat who sang, danced and acted in vaudeville, Broadway, movies and TV. His Broadway work included 'Jeeter' in the original "Tobacco Road" and 'Hickey' in the original "The Iceman Cometh". Versatile guy!
