It was Cyd Charisse--four years before she reached stardom in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN.

No, this definitely was not Cyd Charisse. I noticed here in this film (who wouldn't!), but this girl was someone else. Thanks, though!

I'm watching hid right now and I'm pretty sure that is Allym McLerie. not sure if I spelled her name exactly right.

Thank you...it was driving me nuts. I saw it yesterday and I just couldn't place her. She was also in "Calamity Jane" playing Katie Brown with Doris Day in the starring role. We've seen her on several TV shows, too.

She also plays a native girl (can't remember the character's name) in the Warner Brothers 1953 "Desert Song" with Kathryn Grayson and Gordon MacRae.

Yes, it was Miss McLerie. She also appeared with Doris Day in "Calamaity Jane." She was excellent as a dancer and a vocalist.
