Hello,

That is the reason I want at after seeing an extract of it on That's Dancin'.

You said it. As I tell my kids - Now that was dancing!
I first saw this film when I was 13. I'm now 60 and I still love it.

Love is never having to say you're sober.

I am watching the DVD release now. The color is corrected and it looks like the film was just produced. Not many out-takes - mostly of Perry Como, and some audio out-takes are featured, as well as cartoons. The documentary is great - Richard Rodgers' daughter Mary Rodgers talks about Rodgers and Hart and the decision to try, due to the times, to omit Lorenz Hart's homosexuality. I've always enjoyed Mary Rodgers' comments on interview; she is a classy lady.

Not to forget the highly informative commentary.

Me too. I first heard "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" when I was maybe 5 years old and even though it is 6 minutes long, it just stuck with me. From it subtle beginning to a slow melody but then the song comes to life in the 2nd half (it was originally a double-sided 78) and to see it on the screen was awesome. Lennie Hayton's version (the one in the film) charted on Billboard in 1949 which was rare for a double-sided song. My copy was a VHS dub to dvd (tape was sealed when I got it) & the quality was excellent for a 1948 film.
