I read a sort of biography about her, written by Mel Torme, a long time ago. Think it was called The Other Side Of The Rainbow, but it mainly dealt with Mel's problems working with her on The Judy Garland Show.
It's NOT a rumor; everyone in their circles knew Drake was gay. It was no industry secret. He had one, brief
marriage, probably studio-pushed.
