interesting film but a little bit of a bore.

I like this film. It is not a total turkey as many critics have said.

The positive things: good performances by John Hoyt, Janis Paige and Miss Davis.

A not so good performance by Jim Davis. The story of loneliness in this film

is a interesting story that Hollywood usually doesn't touch (probably because

it is not big box office). Enjoy this film for the three good performances

and try to look the other way with Jim Davis's very arkward performance.

Yes, Jim Davis did seem to be in a different movie than John Hoyt, Janis Paige and Bette Davis. It was like he was in some kind of he-man movie and the other folks were in a "sophisticated city folks" movie. Kinda strange.

Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.

just sit back and enjoy the good things in this film. It is not as bad as it's reputation.

In a previous post you wrote this:

And now you say this:

just sit back and enjoy the good things in this film. It is not as bad as it's (sic) reputation.

How do you expect people to enjoy a film that features a completely wooden, awkward performance by the male lead?
