WINTER MEETING Alert for TCM

WINTER MEETING will be telecast on TCM at 2:00 PM (EST) on Thursday, December 20th. The film is one of the mis-fires of Bette's later Warner Bros. years (she would make two more films before terminating her contract), and though issued on VHS has yet to see the light of DVD-day.

In fact, all of Davis' films in the second half of that decade were serious misfires, which is why when Davis said of King Vidor during the shoot of Beyond the Forest, "It's either him or me" Jack Warner jumped at the chance to give her the sack. She'd become far too troublesome, given her diminishing box-office results.
