Rubber octopus straight out of 'Ed Wood'

John Wayne was good in this, but that fight with the sea monster with the bug eyes was hilarious ... so were the natives and that "Gilligan's Island" indoor set.

It is the same eight-sided cat as was used in "Bride of the Monster" but she purred in this film first, and -what's more- still had her motor to miaow-noeuvre her tentacles here

Yeah, the Gilligan's Island was funny, but not as funny as the process shot with the out of focus jungle rear projection, that was intercut with the indoor set.

The Octopus was made for Wake of the red witch and later stolen by Ed Wood's team to make "bride of the Monster". Wood's team did not steal the electric motor that made the tentacles move, so Bela had to wrap the tentacles around himself and pretend to fight it.

See "Trivia" for this film.

In fact the octopus DID end up in an Ed Wood movie...BRIDE OF THE MONSTER.
