audio quality on TCM

it's on right now and the audio is awful, especially the voices. is this the best there is? it's only from 1948.

it was fine on my TV. :)

Mine was fine too. Everything was really clear and I was able to understand everyone when they spoke.

No way the audio was fine on TCM. I struggled mightily. I had to adjust the audio compression on my cable box to get sufficient volume on some of the dialogue. 98% of it was fine, but then some was mixed low, which I have never encountered. I had the remote in hand the entire second half, trying to lower the deafening music in time, then bring the volume back up for the dialogue. Probably the original mix was shoddy. I'd like to watch this movie again if I hear that the audio got remastered.

The audio may be bad on TCM but it is fine on the DVD. I watched it last night and it was nice and clear.

The sound is good on the Blu-ray disc too.

Just watched it on Netflix and the sound quality was fine. Good movie!
