reactions to fantasy sequence

Although it's very funny and Rex Harrison is great, I can see why audiences might not go for a comedy about a man fixated on killing his wife.

In fact, I would think anyone reading the script of the fantasy sequences (where he murders his wife and frames his secretary or the graphic visual of the Russian roulette sequence) would share the reaction of Philip Henslowe (Geoffrey Rush) in "Shakespeare in Love":

"Well, THAT would have them rolling in the aisles."

Very dark, but still funny.
