The way they disposed of the Chinese slaves. Pretty shocking image, even by today's standards.

It never fails to startle me, that sequence. What makes it worse is how it's shown through binoculars and there's no sound, depersonalizing it

Great observation. Couldn't put my finger on why it seemed to be more horrifying than I was expecting for a movie made in that era.

It is one of the most horrifying scenes I have ever seen.
