hey, its Natalie Schafer 20 years before Gilligans Island.. and she looks just as old here...

film moves pretty slow...i can see why B Davis turned it down.. not much action here.

She looked her age here. By the time she was on Gilligan's Island she was actually very well-preserved for her age. Wasn't it odd to see Lovey puffing on a cigar and blowing smoke rings?

I was just telling a friend about this movie this morning (it played on TCM yesterday).
"The highlight," I said, "was seeing Natalie Schaffer puff bit the tip off a cigar and puff away!"!!!

Well, 16 years before--or 15 years if you count when the pilot episode was shot in late 1963 (though not aired until 1992). Partly because of the JFK assassination, that occurred near the originally planned release date, they delayed the release of the series by nearly a year.
