The Free State of Jones


I too am looking for the movie, two years later.
I saw a reference to it and then went looking for the 'story'. I found the interesting local story here:

It's interesting that this film was made the same year Davis Knight (great-grandson of Newt Knight on whom the film is loosely based) was tried in a miscegenation case.

ascott39: Remember seeing this film on the old AMC. A lot of great films are no longer seen since that network stopped their classic movie format and TCM for some reason has not picked up the slack on these gems.
