Gen. Jackson

Apparently the story takes place towards the end of the war because Gen. Lee ends up surrendering before Fillmore can be hanged. But one of the lines is that only Gens. Lee, Johnston and Jackson know who the Gray Spider is. Gen. Jackson was killed in 1863. Also, probably President Davis knew who he was too. But all historical inaccuracies aside, this was a very funny movie and Red Skelton was at his funniest as the bumbling bellboy and "spy". Arlene Dahl made for a lovely leading lady also.
