The phone

I think the beginning and end of this film is a bit of a problem. When Leona is about to hang up the phone after reaching the busy signal at Henry's office she manages to hear the connection of the two plotters which allows her to listen in to the phone. She gets the full conversation but then it conveniently disconnects when they are about to discuss the address. Then at the end, someone has picked up the extension in the kitchen yet a few moments later she is able to receive the final call. They could have just put that part into the last call. I realize both these things can be just explained with 'It's a movie' but I thought those parts weren't well done.

Also I noticed that in the flashback scene, while Barbara is in college (ha ha), when she is in the car with Henry, he is driving on the right side of the car. I thought they would have mentioned it in the Goofs section.

It's right-hand drive as it's European, as mentioned in the dance scene.

In the 1940s, phone lines were manually connected by human operators, so I didn't have a problem with the crossed lines and Leona's ability to hear the two plotters talking. As far as the end call, I just assumed that the killer hung up the phone after listening for a few seconds.
