I like this movie. It's an interesting time capsule showing some of the greats of the Swing Era playing their music.

I taped this off of TV years ago. Now I'm trying to find a DVD copy to use in my classroom, only to find they never made a DVD of this film, and VHS copies are selling for $100.00!

It is a great film, especially for spotlighting great swing artists, but $100.0 for a VHS tape---let's hear it for supply and demand.

I found a DVD on ebay. Could be a copy of the DVD? Not sure.

I too have this on an very aging VHS tape but thanks to TCM I will be able to get a new copy in a few days (3/14/07) when it is broadcast.

I taped it off of TV a few years ago also. I took it to school to show to my class of third-graders. We were studying different musical instruments. The "Song is Born" number gave them a chance to see all of the instruments we had been studying. Plus they got to learn about some of the great artists of that era

Finally released on dvd last month (5/09)!!!
