Powerful film score by Alfred Newman...

One of the most impressive things about THE SNAKE PIT aside from the cast, script and direction, is Alfred Newman's powerfully dramatic background score.

In case anyone's intersted, it is available on CD, a two-disc Tsunami label that combines CAPTAIN FROM CASTILLE with THE SNAKE PIT, music composed, arranged and conducted by Alfred Newman. I'm sure you can Google it for any of the sales information.

I think it's one of his strongest scores with all sorts of nuances, ending of course with his use of the "Going Home" theme. If you're a soundtrack collector, this is one for your collection.

CAPTAIN FROM CASTILLE provides quite a contrast with its pseudo-Spanish flavor.
