Finally on DVD

This truly lost and unavailable film has finally been released, but it is unfortunately from the dreaded Alpha Video: http://www.amazon.com/Shed-No-Tears-Wallace-Ford/dp/B007DIQBFK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331866031&sr=8-1

If anyone bites the bullet and picks up a copy, please post your thoughts on the film, both in terms of the film itself and the quality of the DVD release.

I've just ordered this DVD. When I get it, I'll let you know how the picture quality is. Sometimes the "dreaded" Alpha surprises us with a pretty decent print. I may take a couple of weeks for it to arrive, so be patient!

I got a copy of it, and Alpha's release, while sourced from a 16mm print, looks perfectly watchable. It's not a restored print, but it still looks a lot better than many of their other releases. For the price ($7.98), I recommend it.

You probably know by now... it's a pretty decent print. A little grainy and only a little faded.
Nice flick. June Vincent is splendid. Concentrate: there are many plot twists.

For 1948 I thought the story line was unusually sophisticated. Unlike other films of that era you had to pay close attention to the film to understand where it was going. And it went in interesting directions
