Perhaps you would be more interested if you knew that Prince Charles is a direct descendent many times over from the unhappily married couple in this movie, and that his late former wife Diana Spencer was a direct descendent of the devious Countess von Platen (the mistress of the Elector of Hanover, father of the future George I of England) through her fat daughter the Countess of Darlington, later known as the Elephant after she accompanied King George I to England.

Countess Platen was executed by Sophie of Hanover before her daughter went to England with her lover (who was also reputed to be her half-brother) and Diana descends from this union on the wrong side of the blanket, so she has some Hanoverian ancestors as well as Stuart ancestors. Surprising for a woman who scorned her royal in-laws as "the Germans." Truly amazing!
