I Thought It Was Terrible! - 80 Minutes Too Long.

Two upper class friends decided to kill a third friend and then have a party with the body in the living room. Brilliant idea! Rupert jumps to the conclusion their has been a murder. Just how did he come to that conclusion. Is he psychic? When I go to a party and someone does not show, I assume they have been murdered - don't you? Two guys are fighting over a gun. Why didn't the third guy jump in and help his friend? Usual overacting by Stewart.

- The boys believe the idea is brilliant because they (mainly Brandon) are so arrogant that they believe nobody will be smart enough to figure out the crime even with the evidence sitting in the middle of the room.
- I wouldn't say Rupert "jumps" to any conclusion. He gradually comes to the conclusion that SOMETHING is bothering the boys which may likely concern David based on his conversations with the housekeeper, David's girlfriend, Philip, the group debate over the ethics of murder, etc. All that PLUS David not calling/showing up and Rupert finding his hat in the closet. So, when he goes back up to the apartment, it's not necessarily because he knows there has been a murder, but he does know that something strange is going on.
- I'd say Brandon doesn't help Philip because he knows Philip is drunk and terrified and will do something stupid if Brandon helps. He probably doesn't want to risk getting shot either. Also, at that point, he probably realizes on some level at least that there is nothing he can do to prevent Rupert from turning them in so there's little point in trying to get the gun from him.

Also, I think that, deep down inside, Rupert might have known that Brandon was capable of such a horrible crime. If the party had been held somewhere else and Brandon wasn't present, then Rupert wouldn't have given a second thought to David's absence (nor to Brandon's absence either). But this was different.
