Doris Day and Janis Paige WOW!!!

I am watching this movie right now and there's Doris in this adorable beret with a little point sticking up in the middle and Janis in an adorable black hat with a veil. Women looked wonderful in those days, all dressed up wearing pins on their lapels, and topping it off with these fantastic hats. Wonderful, Wonderful!!! Also just saw some gorgeous blonde wearing a fantastic blue dress with strands of beads. Gotta go quick and see who that was!!!!!

Leslie Brooks. I'll never understand why she wasn't more popular. I Love the look of hats. I wish people wore them more often. I have a small collection of vintage hats and I wear them every chance I get.

The clothing was really fun in this movie. Most of it was made for High Society women, but I wish ladies would still dress like that.

I think Doris Day is absolutely adorable in this movie. I have seen nearly every movie she has been in and although I find her beautiful in everything, I believe she is at her lovliest here.

I think the costumes are great too. Along with so many other movies from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. I do like what I see in movies, but I've looked through so many albums from friends and family, and none of them dressed like that. I suppose it's like the "Gucci" of today; costume designers forgetting what the middle class really dresses like (or being sponsored by Gucci to try and fool you about what the middle class really can afford).

As much as I'd love people to dress as nice as they did back then, I sure wouldn't want to be one to participate. I'm the laziest and least fashionable person I know. I only keep my hair long because I'm too much of a wuss to cut it short, but then all I do is complain about how much time it takes me to simply brush it out and leave it down all day. I've only had something fancier than a ponytail on 3 days of my life: prom, graduation, and wedding day. I can't imagine spending that much time and money on all the beauty products every morning that it would take to look as gorgeously made-up as the women in these classic flicks looked.

The costumes on this project were done by Milo Anderson http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0027220/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cr21, who was Warner Brother's go-to costume designer. While not as famous or publicity conscious as as Orry-Kelly, Helen Rose or Edith Head, Anderson designed memorable costumes for more than 175 films, from "The Adventures of Robin Hood" to "Mildred Pierce" between 1932 and 1956. We owe a lot to this very creative and talented man.
