Why isn't this movie on DVD ?

It's one of the greatest film-noirs ever made and I know for a fact that excellent prints of it exist because I've seen it a couple of revival festivals and the prints have always been pristine. C'mon studio guys put in on DVD. It's a great film and Widmark is still around and you might even be able to convince him to come out of hiding and do some commentary on it.

Celeste Holm may also participate on the commentary (hopefully Fox will release this movie soon in their film noir line).

Road House was screened at the Noir City Film Festival in San Francisco on Sunday, February 3. Shame that this isn't yet on DVD. Ida Lupino is a bad singer but her performance as a sassy torch singer from Chicago is great.

It's being released on DVD later this year, with a commentary by The Czar of Noir, Eddie Muller. Also being released later this year is The Brasher Doubloon, also with a Muller commentary.
