This film and the film Paisa influenced American filmmaker Russ Meyer to change his style. His first film under this influence was Lorna. And it wasn't just Silvana Mangano.

Not sure how seriously I can take that statement but yeah; it's not entirely unplausible as Lorna does have few narrative elements in common with BR, as well as a more open sensuality uncommon in post-Hayes Hollywood cinema.

I 100% agree. I felt like I was watching a Russ Meyer flick but in a curvaceous 40's style.
