A Cult Film??

Can someone please explain to me why people are calling this Judy's 'Cult' film? I don't understand why it is being called a cult film? I thought that cults were really bad people or something. Can someone please explain to me why people in Hollywood often share the films are cult films or cult favorites. What is the meaning behind this term and where does it come from or what does it have anything to do with movies? Sorry for all of the questions!

Aside from other connotations, a "cult" can be simply a small but devoted group of followers or admirers. When applied to film, it generally refers to one which didn't achieve great success upon its release, but endures by gaining just such a following of devoted admirers, who often discover it long after its introduction.
