Unbelievably irritating and dumb

How this movie got such high votes is astonishing. I could barely get through it but kept watching and expecting something more than the idiotic scenes and dialogue. The worst Judy Garland movie I've ever seen.

I agree, I found it offensive. It was an abusive relationship. Him refusing to hear her say no and pushing himself on her, and him being a total playboy/douchebag. There was never a interaction between them where she didn't ask him to leave her alone and then, suddenly, after hurting him, she call him her love... What?? Really?. -_-'

Remember the part where she was so scared and piss off with his stalking behaviour, that she tried to cut the rope he was walking on to make him fall. And after that he's still saying '' I know you love me!'' ooooh please XD.

It was made in the sensible days before PC.

Disagree. I thought it was fun and entertaining.

IMHO it's a fairly bad movie with some great musical numbers, which have led it to being greatly overrated.

Also, some people like Vincente Minelli's visual aesthetic, his use of color and his habit of putting drapes and flounces on everything possible, but I can't stand it.
