Weegee Cameos

The legendary photographer Weegee makes two cameos in the film. Snapping a flash picture of Barry Fitzgerald as he gets out of a car and enters 52 West 83rd St and at the very end final shot as the street sweeper. This link is the first one, don't blink or you'll miss him. You'll see him holding a large format camera with a cigar in his mouth as he snaps a flash picture. Mark Hellinger bought the rights to the title of Weegee's 1945 photo book Naked City that the film's title is based upon. They shot this film in July 1947 and Hellinger passed away that December, just 6 months later.
