Was ANY of filming at 'Carribean Club' in Fl?

Over in the movie board of "Classmates", a member states that she has articles saying that some of the filming was done at the sight of a bar called:"The Carribbean Club".... I visited this bar in 1988, and the gal said "Key Largo" was filmed there... it's a lovely bar right on the gulf side beach. BUT, SOMEWHERE, i read that the movie was shot ENTIRELY on the lot[Warner's], and only the opening scene was from local Florida location[but NOT Key Largo],,,
Does ANYONE know for sure?
Also, on the 'History Channel, they had the 1935 Hurricane footage, and it's destructive aftermath... there is reason to believe that there is criminal neglect in the tardy arrival of a rescue train that got there too late...That 'Cane was 2nd to the DEVASTATING hurricane in Galveston at the turn of the 19th century[8,000 died!]

Just watched the film (one of my favorites) on DVD. The features clearly mention that the film was shot (except for a few exterior shots) on the Warner lot.

Looks like the CC is living on borrowed glory.

the hotel shots were filmed on the grounds of the "carribbean club"... this club used to be a boating club house ... both upstairs and coming downstairs were filmed in this area ... the walk out to the pier and boathouse were filmed back in the studio ... inside the club today there is a mounted photo museum of sorts where you can see the various scenes from the movie ... the original "club" burned down completely in 1954 and the present building was constructed over the same spot so that is why it appears differently from the movie ... all of this information is on display as I mentioned in the current building to include newspaper clippings of the fire ...

It was filmed at Warners, not on Key Largo:

"Huston's last film, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, had been filmed on location and had gone over budget, so Jack Warner insisted that Key Largo be filmed on the studio sound stage. Cinematographer Karl Freund compensated by using his camera expressively to negate the impression of staginess as much as possible."

I believe Huston and the writer did go to Largo to edit the script.

There are some establishing shots. But, pretty much the whole thing is shot on a lot. Even when Bogie and Bacall go out to the dock in the first half hour, the water looks like a tank, not the ocean. You can even see the overhead lights reflected.
